Homes For our Troops (HFOT) is a nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans. Its impact is nationwide, so to demonstrate how HFOT helps local Veterans in its donors’ communities, we created a “Veterans Day” renewal appeal that used variable laser techniques and an oversized, custom reply form to demonstrate the number of homes built or underway in each donors’ state. This package also included a bounce back note, allowing donors to send a special Veterans Day message to the Veteran featured in the letter – Michael – who was awaiting the final construction of his new home.
